National Signage Programs :: One Shop, Every Location

National Signage Programs for Franchises and Multi-Location Brands

One national sign company, one point of contact, every location built to the same standard in our Illinois shop. Signature Signs & Lighting handles the surveys, the permits, the fabrication, the rollout schedule and the installs, so your team stops auditioning a different sign vendor in every market.

  • Surveys, code research and permits handled market by market
  • One shop builds every location, so the fortieth matches the first
  • Installed by our crews in Central Illinois, by managed partners beyond

The Program

What a national sign company should take off your plate

National signage companies all sell the same seven things. The difference is whether one company owns all seven, or hands three back to you the week a permit stalls.

Site surveys and code research, address by address

Every location starts with a survey: the building measured, the elevations photographed, the local sign code read and the landlord criteria pulled before anyone draws anything. That is where multi-location programs quietly go wrong. A package gets approved at head office, then three cities cap the square footage and the schedule slips a quarter.

Brand standards drawn once, then repeated

Your brand book becomes a working sign family: letter heights, return depths, colors, illumination, mounting details and the alternates you fall back to when a city will not allow the primary. We draw it once and hold it, so every new store is a variation on a package that has already been solved.

Permits, variances and landlord approvals

Permitting eats calendars, so it starts before fabrication rather than after. We prepare the drawings each jurisdiction wants, file or support the local filing, answer plan review comments and pursue a variance when code and brand standard disagree. Landlord approvals run on the same track.

Fabrication under one roof in Jacksonville, Illinois

Channel letters, cabinets, monuments, pylons and LED message centers are built and tested in our own shop, not brokered out to whichever fabricator is cheapest that month. That is why a program stays consistent: the same paint process and the same lighting spec produce location forty the way they produced location one.

Rollout scheduling and a status you can actually read

A program is a schedule problem more than a sign problem. Production runs in waves tied to your opening dates, and each location carries its own status: surveyed, drawn, permit filed, permit issued, in production, shipped, installed, closed out. Your construction manager gets one list and one person to call.

Installation: our crews here, vetted partners beyond

Locations across Central Illinois are installed by Signature Signs crews with our own cranes and bucket trucks. Locations outside that footprint go in through vetted install partners we select and manage, on the same contract. Any location can instead take a ship-only sign, built here and crated for your own contractor. More on our nationwide page.

Service and maintenance after opening day

A program does not end at the ribbon cutting, so the drawings, the module specs and the closeout photos for every location stay on file. When a letter goes dark, the fix starts from the record of what we built rather than a guess. Sign repair and maintenance works the same way for signs another company built.

Program Types

Signage programs we run

Most national sign programs are one of four shapes. Tell us which one you are in and the quote gets specific fast.

Franchise rollouts

The franchisor approves one package, then franchisees order from it. Same letter set, same illumination, same drawings, and the brand stops policing sign quality one location at a time. Franchise signs can be installed by our crews, by a managed partner, or shipped to the franchisee’s own contractor.

Financing is available for franchisees →

Rebrands and conversions

Old identity down, new identity up, usually against a date somebody else picked. We plan the removals, the patch and paint coordination, the temporary covers that carry a location through the gap, and the permanent signs that follow. Debranding a closed site is part of the same scope.

See conversion work →

New store openings

The sign has to be ready the week the store is, not the week after. We build the sign schedule backward from your opening date and coordinate with the general contractor on electrical rough-in and wall backing, because sites always slip.

Channel letters and storefronts →

Bank and M&A conversions

Branch conversions run against legal day one, and a bank cannot be wearing the wrong name when the doors open. Temporary covers bridge the date, then permanent cabinets, monuments and drive-through signs follow once permits clear. Interior and ATM signage stays on the same list.

The Rollout

How a signage rollout works

Six stages, in this order, every time. The order is the part that protects the opening date.

01 :: Program kickoff

  • Brand standards, sign family and approved alternates
  • One project manager named on your side and ours
  • The location list, with opening dates where you have them

02 :: Surveys and code check

  • Site survey and photos per address
  • Sign code, setback and square-footage limits
  • Landlord and property manager criteria

03 :: Prototype and first article

  • One location built and approved before the wave
  • Color, finish and illumination signed off
  • Drawings locked for the rest of the program

04 :: Permits and production in waves

  • Permits filed ahead of the build, not after
  • Production batched to your opening dates
  • Status per location, updated as it moves

05 :: Ship and install by wave

  • Our crews across Central Illinois
  • Vetted install partners beyond, managed by us
  • Ship-only crates where you have your own installer

06 :: Closeout and maintenance

  • Photos and documentation per location
  • Drawings and specs kept on file for service
  • A maintenance plan for the whole estate

Delivery

Two ways to deliver every location

Most programs mix both, market by market, on the same contract.

Option 1 :: White Glove

We deliver it installed

We build the sign, then get it on the building. Our crews cover Central Illinois and vetted partners cover the locations beyond, with permits, freight and scheduling managed on our side.

How nationwide delivery works
Option 2 :: Sign Only

We build it and ship it

When a franchisee already has an installer, or the general contractor owns the scope, we crate the sign for freight and send the drawings and patterns with it. Same shop, same standard, your crew on the ladder.

Why Illinois

Why brands pick a shop in the middle of the country

Freight out of Central Illinois reaches both coasts and most of the South without the long-haul premium a coastal fabricator builds into every crate. That is a real line item when a program ships forty signs instead of one.

  • Our own 12,000 square foot shop, so account managers sit near the builders
  • Central freight lanes in every direction
  • A 5.0 Google rating from the customers who see us every week
  • One contract and one person who answers for the whole program

Good Questions

National signage program FAQ

What is a national signage program?
A national signage program is one sign company managing surveys, permits, fabrication, shipping and installation for every location of a brand, under one standard and one point of contact. Signature Signs & Lighting runs programs that way instead of leaving each market to find its own sign shop. Start a program quote and we will scope your location list.
Can Signature Signs & Lighting handle signs for a franchise with locations in several states?
Yes. Every sign is fabricated in our Jacksonville, Illinois shop. Locations across Central Illinois are installed by Signature Signs crews, locations beyond that are installed through vetted install partners we select and manage, and any location can instead receive a ship-only sign crated for the franchisee’s own installer. See the nationwide page for how the shipping side works, or call (217) 860-0708.
How does a national sign company keep every location consistent?
Consistency comes from building the standard once and never renegotiating it. Signature Signs draws the sign family a single time, approves a first-article sign before the wave goes into production, builds every location in the same shop, and closes each site out with photos. Ask for a program quote to see it applied to your brand.
Who handles sign permits and landlord approval in each city?
Signature Signs does the code research for each address, prepares the drawings that jurisdiction expects, and either files the permit or supports the local installer who files it. Landlord approvals run on the same track. Permit timelines vary a lot by city, so permitting starts before fabrication. Send us your address list and we will flag the hard jurisdictions.
How long does a multi-location sign rollout take?
Surveys and permits set the schedule, not the shop. Once the sign family is approved, production runs in waves tied to your opening or conversion dates, and the locations with the slowest jurisdictions start first. Signature Signs gives you a wave-by-wave schedule with the quote rather than one number no city has agreed to yet. Request a program schedule.
Do you handle rebrands, conversions and removal of old signs?
Yes. Rebrands and conversions cover removing the old signage, coordinating patch and paint, hanging temporary covers when a legal date lands before the permanent signs do, and then installing the new identity. Bank and acquisition conversions run the same way. Talk to us about a conversion or call (217) 860-0708.
